Good News and Bad News

The good news is...my house is going on the market! The bad news is...my house is going on the market. We finally got the back landscaping done and got it ready to sell. Our wonderful, magnificent, and most beautiful of all real estate agents, Lisa Hare, and her husband/business partner came today to take the pictures for the virtual tour. So OF COURSE the house had to be in absolute perfect condition for its photo opp. I'm putting these pictures (I took these, not the realtor. Theirs are much better and will be on Lisa's site shortly if you're interested or bored) on here because I want the world to see how clean my house is! My house hasn't been this clean and de-cluttered since...er...my house has never been this clean and decluttered. Likely it never will be again. So where's the "bad news" part of all this? The memories of selling our last home less than two years ago are just all too fresh and painful. Yelling at my kids every time they brought out a toy or spilled a drop of juice on the carpet because "SOMEBODY MIGHT CALL AND WANT TO SHOW THE HOUSE AT ANY MINUTE!!!" The insanity that occurred every time someone actually DID want to show the house, because it was a mad dash to get it immaculate and load every kid in the car and get them out of the house before the realtor got there. The disappointment every time it showed and someone was interested but then changed their minds. It's a few hours away from being listed on the MLS, and I'm already feeling like I need a massage and a whole lot of oreos. Remembering my breathing: hee hee hoo hoo hee hee hoo hoo. I can do this. I can do this. I can...

I feel for you. I hated selling the first home we owned. It made me sad, but I too, didn't like trying to keep it clean and then leaving the house while they showed it. The house looks nice, I hope you get an offer soon so you don't eat too many oreos!

HEY, was that a plug to try to get the Oreo company to send you some cookies??????????????

I didn't think of that. But I had better do better than that piddly mention if I want free oreos. I'll work on it. The girl who did the digital designs I used on my blog (see the blog for her link) actually has a black and cream colored kit called vintage oreo. I think I need to put some thought into this. I feel a scheme coming on...

Ok, as a yoga instructor, I have to ask, What was that breathing at the end?! It sounded more like the TV, "I'm having a baby" breathing. Now, do you have some explaining to do?
Better yet, inhale slowly through your nose,...

Deb:
(the following is said in a snotty, mimicking voice) "as a yoga instructor...blah blah blah..." As a NON-yoga instructor myself, I must ask you: What the heck do *I* know about any kind of breathing besides birthing? I've done that 4 times. Yoga, zero times. Not sure I know how to write yoga breathing anyway. Also, I pretty much equate keeping a house in showing condition with giving birth, only minus the epidural. Now leave me alone. I'm off to check my lung chakra. I think it's very off-center.

Your house looks A LOT cleaner then ours. I hate selling houses, it is SUCH A STRESS. I totally feel for you! But your pictures look great!

Lori sweetie--it was that clean for approximately 5 minutes before the picture, and then about 3 and a half minutes after. Trust me. Why do you think I snapped the pictures? I knew it was a very fleeting moment worthy of preservation.
