Simply Valenterrific!

Awww...poor little Cupid. Does this leave any doubts as to how I truly feel about the Hallmark-contrived holiday known as Valentine's Day? I've never been a big fan of the day, and many of you who know me well can probably guess why! Now, being a 37 year old mom of 4 little kids who's going through a divorce (close your mouth, yes, you read that right), this picture just seemed like the right choice for my V-day blog decor!! HOWEVER, having said this, 2008 is my year to turn over a new leaf. I am bound and determined to make every February 14th, from this year forward, the simply most Valenterrific day of the year! Now, what I really need are some suggestions. I'm waiting...

(p.s. Isn't "Valenterrific" a great word? I kiped it from a dear friend. You can use it if you want, but hurry--you've only got two days left!!)

I like Laura's idea! Celebrate yourself. Love yourself. Give yourself some attention. Great advice Laura!

Thanks for giving me a "Jacey" fix. ;)

That's it! I'm going on a cruise! Kids? What kids? They can make their own lunches and wipe their own bottoms and drive themselves to school for a week, right? Happy Valentine's Day to ME!

Okay forgive if I have typos... watching a friends baby - her husband is having an emergency surgery... Anyways THANKS Kristi! I think it is so important that us women take care of ourselves... the other day I was at wits end (now come on I know we have all been there) snapped at everyone... put baby to bed (at 6PM isn't she a sweetie for always going to bed early) told my husband to take care of the boys.... (If he can just keep them alive that is all that mattered) then I thought either I go shopping or lock myself in our only bathroom... I chose to lock myself in the bathroom.... Had a good long cry .... then took a hot bath - showered - shaved those legs - lotioned up - blow dried my hair for the first time in months (I rarely ever take time for me) - straighten my hair - painted my toe nails - put on my silky VS pjs and crawled in bed to dream my cares away... I really need to take better care of me! So yes you are important love yourself! GIRL! I need to remember my own words LOL ~ Laura

Hi Jacey. I hope your Vday is valenterrific, cuz I think you are jaceylicious. Hope you are doing OK - come over if you need some pollyluvin.

Look at that! 3 made-up words in one blog comment. Go Polly! But shouldn't jaceylicious be capitalized? pollyluvin, too? will pollyluvin involve cake of some kind? If so, count me in.

I suggest eating lots and lots and lots of chocolate :)

Our tradition is making heart shaped pancakes with valentine M&M's in them for dinner topped with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. It's fun for the kids and hey, there's chocolate involved so it's good for me!

Ok, am I the only one who found the cupid a little creepy! You know I love you Jace, but still, creepy! However, loving the Valenterrific word! Thanks!

Debra Lynn,

I think it's only creepy because it looks like a child, which it isn't!!! It's an annoying little person who flies around spreading the L word with wings and an arrow! Big difference!

Hope you had a Valenterrific Day!!! Between you and Polly we are going to have to update the Webster’s Dictionary soon. Or better yet, I think the time has come for you to publish the Jaceylicious and Pollyluvin Dictionary. Love You Jacey!!!
