The Meaner They Are, the Harder They Fall

So here's how it happened...
The blue-eyed monster: Uses kid-sized chair to climb up on grown-up sized kitchen chair.
Mother of the year (as she's doing dishes and watching out of the corner of her eye): You'd better get down or you're going to fall. Continues to wash dishes.
The blue-eyed monster: Unintelligible jibberish. Still standing on chair.
Mother of the year: If you don't get down from that chair, you're going to fall and it's going to be bad! More dish-washing.
The blue-eyed monster: Additional unintelligible jibberish followed by CRASH! SPLAT! SCREAM!
Mother of the year: I told you it would be bad!
And if you're not convinced by now that I should be top candidate for Mother of the Year, see below pics, where my 20 month old (yes, that'd be the blue-eyed monster) is brushing his OWN teeth. I assure you he does a very thorough and effective job of it.

ooh, it sounds all too familiar. Pore little guy, but how can you resist the "little beast" with those adorable blue eyes!!

Dang, Lori, you're fast! I just barely posted this. I was still editing. And just so everyone knows, the reason Lori's calling him a little beast is because she read the pre-edited, rough draft edition of this post. I switched from little beast to blue-eyed monster, but not til AFTER she commented! But let me assure you, he is BOTH.

Dang, Laura! OK, you win. I concede my MOTY award yet again. But next year is my year! It has to be!

Oh Shoot, thanks for clarifying why I called him a little beast, I would have never normally called him that, I was only quoting:) Sorry, I didn't know I was being so fast. I was just going up my list of bog buddies and you were one of the first. Anyhow he is the cutest little blue eyed monster I have ever seen!!!

Wait a minute, You're supposed to brush their teeth, too?! What next? No more riding "shot gun" in my lap? ;o)

For any social workers who may be reading this: She's only kidding! Only kidding! I'm sure her kids ride very safely in the back of her pickup truck and are never in "shotgun" position.

Glad I have social services on speed dial;).

BossyMommy said...

Yeah, Kristi, don't you mean they have YOU on speed dial?

It's not my kid with the bruised eye! ;)

Sorry, ladies, but the MOTY title is mine. Thursday Mr. Yuke(4) was really hot but I thought he was just overheated from the crappy insulation in my house that makes the downstairs 40 degrees while the upstairs is simultaneously 90 degrees. (Think I'm joking? Monster Truck(2) sleeps NAKED. WITHOUT COVERS.) Anyway, I thought- oh, he'll cool off. He seems to be acting normal except he's a little tired. Probably cuz he missed his nap today. Friday morning he woke up COVERED- I mean COMPLETELY COVERED, head-to-toe- in a tiny rash. He was a little pale so I took him to the doctor. It really wasn't much of anything. Oh, except for Scarlet Fever/Advanced Strep, and two terrible ear infections. But other than that, he was FINE. See? I win.

Well that does it. I know when I'm beat. Take the MOTY. But you have six, woman! I'd expect you to miss something every now and then. (p.s. why is he Mr. Yuke?)
