Is it Valentine's Day again? Already????

Boo hoo. Woe is me. I don't have a Valentine. But...there is one man on the planet who will always have my undying love and devotion. What? You've never heard of Roger Clyne? Just watch the video. What this boy can do with a guitar and a pair of red Converse sneakers...well...it's magical, I tell you. And back off ladies...he's mine. Well, not technically. But the voices in my head are backing me up on this one.

Happy Birthday, Jenna Jakes!

My little sister Jenna turns the big 2-9 today. No, really. Twenty-nine. Not the fake one, the actual 29. Ok, nuff of that.

I was SUPPOSED to go to lunch with my sisters today in honor of this blessed occasion, but a sick child kept me from it. So.....so as not to make her think I've forgotten her...here are a few pics and a few reasons why I love her and why I hope she has (ok, HAD an awesome day):

*She's a great auntie
*She's a great mommy to two lovable twin boys
*She's a good wife (I have to assume on that one. Check with Phil)
*She's a great sister (I can vouch for that one)
*She likes to put on wigs
*She loves Cadbury eggs
*She laughs really loud
*She organizes every family get together
*She sings real purty
*She Riverdances
*She cans like a freak
*She speaks fluent italian
*She taught my sweet little girls the following important outdoor survival skill: squatting against a tree to pee. Like I said, important. They'll probably never learn it from ME!

I could go on, but I honestly think I peaked with that last one. Now, sit back and enjoy a few pics of the birthday girl.

Happy birthday, sistah!

Back from the Dead

Not so much dead, I guess, as just plain overwhelmed. But don't cry for me. This, too, shall pass...in about 16 years or so, I'm told. I'm posting these pics in response to all the snooty little remarks being directed at me for my lack of blogging activity of late. So brace yourself for lots of pics, people. We'll start with Christmas.

The Walker girls on Christmas Eve. And little Emmalee. She's soooo cuuuuuuute!

Oh, my living room! I can't bear to look at it.

These are pretty much my favorite pics of the 2008 holiday season. Tiny Lucas being forced to portray the sweet baby Jesus in our rendition of that first Christmas night. I know, it oozes sacrilege. Don't tell ME. Talk to uncle Jim, who escorted him into another room and brought him out wrapped in swaddling clothes. And is it just me, or does our Mary look to be in surprisingly good spirits for having just given birth to THAT?

Hallie turns 9 and has a few girlfriends over.

Quick little trip to Bellevue. I hate this picture--grainy, dark, fuzzy, and I look like I'd just spent 13 hours in airports and on planes with only 8 hours of sleep in 2 days--oh, wait, I HAD!!! But it's the only pic I came back with, so it stays.

To compensate, here's one from my LAST trip there.
I think I look much better in this one, don't you?
I'm sporting my "90% humidity glow."

And I don't know why, I just like this picture. I'm allowed to like pictures of myself, right? Or is that too vain and self-absorbed? Oh well, I can own that. Might say I pulled a Kristi. The pouty lip: It's "The New Kristi."
