One for P.E.T.A.

That'd be People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, in case anyone's wondering. It might be kind of hard to see the picture, but I'll try to explain. My little Livvi is in kindergarten. She may even be the dang smartest kid in the class, but I'm not saying for sure. Anyhoo...the students often have to write stories and draw pictures about things they learn about in class. Apparently Livvi learned about Abe Lincoln shooting a turkey. This picture makes me laugh out loud every time I look at it. I'm not a "saver," but I just can't seem to bring myself to toss this masterpiece. If you can't read it, it says, on the bottom, "Abe Lincon shot a turky." Then at the top, we see Abe holding some kind of girly hand gun and looking like Mr. Bill, and pointing said gun at a very cute and innocent looking turkey. He's saying, "Oh, no! I shot a turkey!" Yes, turkey is spelled correctly in the speech bubble, but not in the story. She's consistently inconsistent. That's why I love 'er. Those of you who don't know Livvi well may not really see the humor in this picture, but for the rest of you, including the PETA people...enjoy!

HA! I hope none of the kid's parents in her class read your blog. I was going to point out the misspelling, but you beat me to it (surely there is a kid in her class who could have spelled it right consistently). lol

Of course you need to keep it. I have kept the majority of Cole's younger drawings, but then again, I am a hoarder. Now most wouldn't think I am, but I took a test, and I classify as a borderline hoarder, according to the book, "It's All Too Much". Now if I could just throw out some of those drawings, I may no longer be a borderline hoarder! Cole is reading this as I write, and he is not too happy. Reminds me, I will post a photo of one of Cole's kindergarten drawings on my next post, it has been on there before. ;)

Cole wants to know if you guys eat meat? :)

No, KRISTI, but I'm sure there are plenty who could consistently spell it WRONG! (or is it incorrectly? or wrongly? now we know where she gets her skillz) Ok, the bitter, competitive mommy in me is coming out.

As in "you guys," does Cole mean us mormons, or my family? The answer would be yes and yes.

You asked how i know Phil and Jenna Holmes--Phil and my husband Brian are cousins (second cousins or something...). We see Phil and Jenna almost every year at the infamous Memorial Day breakfast! How fun to get a comment from you!

He meant your family? Since you mentioned PETA! ;)

Yes, much meat eating in this house. It's like one big caveman convention over here.

Do NOT let her near Lacey... I can just see the two of them go down in a hippy, bra burning, tofu eating spiral by the time they get to high school.

It's Carly, everybody! She's never left a comment on my blog before! Hi Carly! I must say, you sure got a lot more out of the picture than I did. I just saw Mr. Bill shooting a turkey. And she can burn all the bras she wants, but there will be NO tofu eating in this house. We're all about the real meat, baby. (see prior comment). Ok, I'm off to gnaw on a drumstick or something.

That is so sweet! I'm not a big collector/keeper of all things, but I would want to keep this too!
We have a letter our 10 year old wrote about 3 years ago to "Nintendo Ink", we are having it framed!

Uh, LOVE this post! Livvi CRACKS me up! She's hilarious, and what the heck, she's so smart, too! Abe seriously looks like Mr. Bill, holding a .22 pistol? A glock, maybe? Nice job, Livvi. You make this Auntie proud!

She is so cute, I can't believe how she has grown. What a darling drawing.

This post makes me want to pee my pants. Livvi is hilarious. You are not allowed to throw that away!
Give her kisses for me and maybe even send her up here to stay with her aunties!

Okay, one more comment, I promise. You need to update your blog. Lafonda no longer lives with us. She could be dead for all I know.
You should put something like, "Bethany, Jim, Braddock, and Emmalee." :) Gosh, don't you have time to fix things like that?! It's not like a million things are going on in your life right now! Lub ya!

Who is LaFonda? She may be dead???

BossyMommy said...

LaFonda (named after Kip's internet girlfriend from Napoleon Dynamite) is an obnoxious dog who either ran away or was given away. Let's just say LaFonda had serious issues. Familiar with Stitch from Lilo and Stitch? Nuff said. She was an interesting--but dispensable--part of the family once. OK, animal lovers, please don't send me any hate mail. Well, you can, but it won't bother me. (o: And Bethany is my dear baby sister, in case you're wondering who's posting stuff about potentially dead family pets.

Jacey, Jenna sent me a note on my blog, I saw yours and wanted to say hi! It was so fun to see your cute kids! Hope all is well. Take care-

That scared me!!! I thought I left a message that didn't make sense and I didn't remember writing it! Whew . . . a different Kristi.

I loved Napoleon Dynamite.

Poor LaFonda, she was probably used as a sacrifice (now do you remember the e-mail Jacey?) lol.

You can delete that last comment after you read it.

;)

First of all, now that I know you want me to delete it...up it stays! And I thought that the other Kristi was you, too! I was confused for a moment or two. Then I figgered it out.

I kind of remember the sacrificing animals conversations, but you'd have to refresh me. (I have issues with low retention--just ask anyone).

i hate PETA but i love livvi! :)

Hmmm, Mel, you sound an awful lot like you could be related to a guy I know. Oh, wait! You are! PHIL! Well, the hating PETA part. Not sure how he feels about Livvi, but I like to think he loves her, too!!! Anyway, glad you love 'er. It's hard not to, really.
