Tiny Turkey Day

So I moved alllllll the way up here to Utah to be close to my family, and what do they do? They all pack up and leave me for Arizona over Thanksgiving! It's ok, though. I enjoyed the whole low-key-ed-ness of the day, and not having to cook for 30 people for the first time in a long time.

Since it was just me and the kiddos, I went with just a small turkey breast as opposed to a big ol' full-blown Tom. Then why, I ask you, do I feel like a completely overstuffed turkey myself after the meal? Maybe it was the entire-blender-full of homemade salsa I made up this morning and consumed with Hallie's help? Well, technically, *I* was the one helping *HER*, but nevertheless...or maybe it was the stuffing I kept sampling before the turkey ever came out of the oven? At any rate, all I know is that by the time we sat down to eat, I was soooo done eating! Bet you can't guess what I did. That's right, I ATE ANYWAY! What is it about Thanksgiving that makes you consume massive amounts of food when you don't even feel like eating it? I had cooked all day to make this great meal, and there was NO WAY I was not going to...uh...enjoy it. Enjoy is probably a strong word here, considering the fact that I think I ended up force-feeding myself about one-and-a-half bites of everything on my plate. Is bulemia really so bad one day out of 365? I think I feel a purge coming on...

Now, for some pics of the festive occasion. I want to point out that Hallie and/or Livvi shot these. Well, not all of them, just the ones that are really blurry, really dark, or really really really bright. I have nooooo idea what happened there. But they're the only images I've got to show for the day, so do your best to enjoy them.

Skunks, Spaceballs, Sassy Cats and Superheros

Once again, my lack of time and brain cells comes into play...forgot to charge the darn camera, so I could only take pictures while it was plugged into the wall. Hence, I have very few Halloween pictures to share. I know, you're devastated. It'll be ok.

Hallie: Supergirl. Livvi: Some sort of fuzzy trimmed kitty cat thing. Ben: Aniken (before he went bad, he wants you to know).

Lucas was a skunk...

...and here's why:

Does anyone smell a stinky personality?

(Hey wait! there's another blog post for today! Keep reading!)

Stingrays and Lobsters and Pumpkins? OH MY!

Last weekend, I loaded up the kidlets and took them to Sandy (about 45 minutes away for you non-Utahns) to something called "The Living Planet Aquarium." Nice little place. We saw some pretty cool creatures. (sorry for the poor quality on some of these. I forgot to charge my camera so I had to use the phone cam after the batteries died)

They had a touch pool with stingray. I was hoping for dolphins, but did I mention I'm in Sandy, Utah? We'll settle for the stingray.

If you can't tell, this is a giant lobster. By "giant," I mean about the size of a cocker spaniel.

Notice the jack-o-lantern in the tank? Do fish celebrate Halloween?
