Well, YOU may not...but BEN sure does! My poor little man has spent about the last six months dealing with partial hearing loss because, 1. He had a bunch of fluid in his ears, and 2. His mother (that'd be me) took her sweet time getting him to the doctor and making an appointment to get it taken care of. But he finally got to visit the hospital--at 6 am this morning--and get those badly-needed tubes put in. It's kind of early to tell, but I'm guessing that in the next few days, Ben will be wondering why everyone's talking so loudly and why all the radios and tv's in the world are suddenly blaring. I wish this meant that I could stop repeating myself....over...and over...and over...and...well, you know where this is going. But alas, as the mother of 4 kids under 8, I suspect there's no surgery in the world that could cure that syndrome. *sigh*
Now for those of you who check out my sister Jenna's blog(or if you ARE Jenna), you may have seen these already, but if you're not one of those people...you're allowed to look at them. This is my very handsome brother Jared (likes to be called Jerry) who's serving his church mission in Idaho. Jenna was passing through Idaho recently and got to stop and have lunch with him and his companion. Necessary side note: for those of you non-mormons reading this, no, "companion" is not a euphemism for "boyfriend." My brother is not a homosexual. Companion is just what they call the guy you're assigned to work with when you're serving your mission. Anyhoo...Jenna reports that Jerry...er...Elder Walker...is doing well and appears to be very well-fed. Look at his chubby cheeks!!
One last report: Lucas went to bed on Saturday night, woke up an hour later screaming at the top of his lungs. I run in there to find him laying in his bed, under the covers, with a big gash over his eye. I have no idea how this happened, and tiny Lucas ain't talkin'. I super glued him, though very poorly, and he's good as new, or at least will be eventually. Can you tell he took this picture himself? I can NEVER get the kid to sit still and let me take a pic, so I was trying to figure out how to get a shot of his eye so I could blog it. When I picked up my camera this morning, I found this lovely self-portrait that Lucas was kind enough to shoot for me. He shot others, too, approximately 27 of them, but none of them were what I'd consider to be blog-worthy.
